Remember, Remember! The 5th of November!

happy guy fawkes day! kbut, our school has been gng through unbelievable turmoil. the high school i attend is kahuku high and intermediate school. we are known for our football team, and the waves of talented young players we turn out. the community is amazing and the boys have SO much support. the LDS church and football are the LIFELINES of this community, and that is NOT an understatement. however, on nov. 5th, the OIA ruled that we had an ineligible player and therefore our team was disqualified from the OIA state championships, the state tournament and our undefeated 10-0 season was crossed out. the 3 main details of the sitch:
1) we did break a rule, but it was unintentional. it was a clerical error and it's not like the player had an impact because he was a reserved player (3rd string) so for all the haters saying we "cheated", we didn't. cheating is intentional. this was unintentional.
2) the penalty was disgusting. who gives the death penalty for a count of littering?! exactly. the punishment was way too harsh for a mistake made by someone in the office.
3) the community and families on the north shore are nothing less than AMAZING. there is NO limit to the love a community can show it's youth.
the entire school came together through this. that friday, when we found out we were disqualified, the entire school ran from the cafe to the football field where our boys were huddled. we had an impromptu assembly and after hugged all the boys. tears flowed like the mississippi river. that night, the parents held a protest in front of the school. i couldn't attend but did go to the protest the next afternoon. the parents then sued the OIA but lost the case which was another time for crying. however, through this all, our student body and community ahs to come together magnificently. i'm proud to be a red raider, and i'm init4life.
p.s: my facebook post on a local news station's wall got on the news :):):):):)

The Iron Board.

I just wanted to make a little tribute to the late yet great surfer, Andy Irons. The day he passed, the waves were, in all aspects of the word, gnarly. Text after text of how mean the surf was and watching the North Shore boys dodge security and slink off to their cars did nothing less than prove to me of how crazy it was out there. However, what we DIDN'T hear about was the death of this awesome, amazing and incredibly talented surfer. It wasn't until I got home that night that I learned of his sudden passing. Much love goes out to his wife, Lindy, and their baby. I hope that she finds comfort and peace and to you Andy, ride in love. R.I.P Andy Irons <3 7/24/78-11/2/10

Hallows Evesie :)

Happy belated Hallows Eve friends! This Halloween was very. . . interesting to say the least! Since Halloween was on a SUNDAY, my friends and I had planned on having a party at one of our houses. We went to my friend Sarah's house but only 8 of us came :( So, after we ate, we drove to the next town over (Kailua) and crashed our friend Chloe Kava's party but HER party was done! Like, who ends their party at 7:00?! So after having a little photoshoot in the parking lot, we went back to her house where Mom and Dad (we call each others parents mom and dad hahaha) started setting up their new big screen TV for us. After calling our parents to let them know the change of plans (I didn't call mine hehe) my friend Cassie was told she cannot go to the Kava's house or else GROUNDINGS! Problem? WE WERE ALREADY THERE! Yeah, we is diabolical liars. Hahaha, so after she took some Tylenol and sweated out literally 3 cups of sweat we took more pictures, jumped back in the cars and sped the 15 minutes back to Kaneohe before any of the parents got to Sarah's house. Success? Indeed. And THAT, my friends, is the story of a Mormon teenage girl scandal. Oh, and in school I was a ninja (last minute!) and for the party I was an All Blacks rugby player (thank you Salvation Army)! I was s'posed t be a Bollywood character or a lion but it didn't work out :( But here are some snapshots! Enjoy!
